This year, we perform what is considered to be Elgar’s finest choral work and one of his finest works across all his music, The Dream of Gerontius; a wonderful gift to choral singers. His setting of Newman’s uplifting and moving journey of a man’s soul from death, through God’s judgement and into purgatory features some of Elgar’s most beautiful writing.

Our Come and Sing gives you the opportunity to experience this glorious work as part of a large choir – the chance to revisit a much-loved piece or to discover it for the first time. Join us, conductor Jeremy Backhouse and accompanist Francis Pott for a wonderful day’s learning, singing and fun.

The day costs £24 and this includes music hire, tea and/or coffee throughout the day, and a delicious lunch of homemade soup and quiche.

Our annual Vivace ‘Come and Sing’ day is extremely popular and usually sells out. Please apply early to secure your place.
