The Vivace Chorus is no ordinary choral society. Whilst we relish performing the standard repertoire (Verdi’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Haydn’s Creation) we also revel in the challenge of singing less often performed masterworks such as Mahler’s 8th Symphony or Prokoviev’s Alexander Nevsky.

Our Concert Team consists of:

  • a choir of over 150 members;
  • one of Britain’s most accomplished chorus masters in Jeremy Backhouse;
  • an outstanding accompanist (and international composer) Francis Pott;

We usually perform with the London-based professional orchestra, The Brandenburg Sinfonia.

We are dedicated, ambitious and achieve great results. We don’t just sing the score: we get beyond the notes on the page, bringing music to life.

Join us and experience the thrill and emotion of top-class music-making.

The music is testing but not too difficult and the people I sing with make it so enjoyable.
The standard that Vivace’s Music Director achieves is remarkable; the professional orchestra we sing with second to none.
It is a valuable and enriching experience singing with a like-minded group of people who want to sing to a high standard.
To sing with an amateur choir that sets professional standards is a wonderful experience.
